Group or Private HypnoBirthing® Classes - which is right for my family?
At Sacred Beginning there are two types of HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Education classes; Private and Group classes. Group classes are offered to allow for families to join together in a group learning experience. The classes are held quarterly in a central location. In these sessions we stick to the syllabus for the series. Classes are 5 - 2.5 hour sessions with no make up classes available.
Private classes are a great option for those who want more of their HypnoBirthing® experience. In private classes I can work closely with families who have special needs, previous losses, traumatic birth experiences, or those who want to have a more personalized class. Plus we meet in your home and find mutual dates that fit your schedule. It is a great option for those who aren't able to do the group class schedule. As a local birth professional I am able to add more on to your sessions in private classes. We can discuss your birthing location plus care provider driven choices for your birth preferences. You will learn about comfort measures, positioning, and be able to prepare for the postpartum period too.
When should you schedule classes? Classes are best taken at month 5 (so that you have plenty of time to practice what you learn in class) or further along. I have taught families at 38 weeks before however sooner is better.

There are several reasons why I would invite you to learn HypnoBirthing® with me.
Passion - Teaching families to have gentle and calm experiences is my sincere pleasure. I am honored and so passionate about this path I walk. I believe that everyone can learn from the HypnoBirthing® series great techniques that stay with them past the birth room. All families are welcome in my class and respected.
Education - I have been teaching HypnoBirthing® since 2006. I used the method for my birth experiences and that inspired me to train with Marie Mongan the founder of HypnoBirthing®. She suggested that I become a Hypnotherapist and I came back from that training and began school at the Ohio State School of Hypnotherapy with Bob Roberts. My BA is in speech communication which becomes useful in my doula work. I am able to help facilitate conversations between clients, nurses, and care providers to ensure everyone is on the same page. I trained locally and certified with DONA as a birth doula. I love heIping families on the birth journey. I use these skill sets with my students and doula clients to ensure they have great birth experiences.
Experience - I have taught over 500 couples HypnoBirthing®. As a seasoned educator I know how to use the techniques locally. As a certified birth doula I employ these tools with the families I work with - I understand how and when to use various techniques. I impart my knowledge so that you too can know how to best use various techniques.
Reviews and Testimonials - Connecting with families is something that I love to do. I want to be able to meet each family's desires and needs. I believe that most of my students would say what makes me different from other instructors is that I really care about their families. I stay connected and watch their families grow up. It makes me smile to see 10 year old children who were my first students babies now.
Community Connection - It is always my sincere pleasure to provide referrals for Care Providers, Doulas, Midwives, Massage Therapists and more. I love being engaged in our birth community and help families find what they are seeking.
Family Portal | Additional class information - I absolutely follow the HypnoBirthing® syllabus and schedule for group and private classes. I also offer additional information, comfort measures, positions, tools, and local advice for families at classes and in the online family portal. There are handouts, resources, and referrals for more depth and understanding.
As of 2017 I am offering private classes ($475-$525) and a few group class sessions ($325). If you are interested in learning more please contact me for a phone consultation 614.636.2626. **If you have a financial hardship contact me via phone to discuss and see if I can help you take the classes.
